Pauanui
Built for relaxation and with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people Pauanui is a resort town lying on a narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and the shallow and tranquil Tairua Harbour.

Pauanui Beach is one of the regions longest swimming beaches and provides opportunities for all types of water based activities or a leisurely beachside stroll. The towns golf course, tennis courts, walking / biking trail provide options for the active visitor while a climb to the summit of Mount Pauanui is a must do for a birds eye view of the carefully laid out town below.
For those with children and/or grandchildren to entertain there are numerous playgrounds, a well maintained mini putt course and a skate park, where you can also watch the small aircraft coming and going from the neighbouring airstrip.
